Does anybody have advice about either of these cities?

I have heard that Korea is quite a homophobic country and that Taiwan has a really happening gay scene.

However I have also heard the the gay ghetto in Seoul is actually really thriving and very open and friendly and also foreigner friendly. Whereas I have heard that the Taipei scene can be a bit pretentious and unwelcoming.

Does anybody have any experience to reflect on?
