Since Chonburi is now under the State of Emergency, what does that mean to Pattaya??
Pattaya is in Chonburi for those who might not be aware..
Please keep us advised Pattaya Male.. stay safe
Chonburi (Town) is about halfway (slightly nearer to Bangkok) between Bangkok and Pattaya.
It can all get confusing with every province having a capital city with the same name..
Pattaya has special designation as a political/geographical entity but lies within Chonburi
province.. It also has Pattaya police, Chonburi police and even BKK police making visits
every so often and each is different.. Even has farang police and farang informants..
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."
It's really getting rather exciting and I'm missing all the fun. I simply love times of crisis! Damn it all! Just my luck not to be there and miss out on it all.
Fierce Clashes Underway Between Protestors And Thai Troops
May. 13, 2010, 11:50 AM (New York Time)
Thailand's central security apparatus, the The Center for Resolution of Emergency Situations (CRES) has announced a state of emergency for fifteen provinces in Central, North, and Northeastern Thailand. The declaration comes on the heels of red shirt protest leaders in Bangkok calling for their supporters in surrounding provinces to head into the capital city and support the movement.
Fierce clashes are now underway between protesters and soldiers near Lumpini park.

UPDATE: CRES just added another 15 provinces to the state of emergency, bringing the total to 30 out of Thailand's 75.
UPDATE: One Thai red shirt reported dead, shot in the head. CNN has reported this as well. According to @journotopia, Reuters is pulling all if their people out of the area since it is getting too dangerous.
UPDATE: Things may have cooled for a moment as below. Bangkok Post reports at least ten protesters wounded and describes the clash as 'provoked' by the protesters.

It means stay away from city hall, and if you happen to see hundreds of people wearing red on a street, turnaround and go the other way.Originally Posted by Pattaya Male

Surely it means at least a battalion of handsome Thai soldiers patrolling the streets of Pattaya? Those I've seen on TV from BKK could frisk me anytime!
