I spoke into his eyes. " I thought you died a long,-- a long long time ago".
" OH NO! not me, i never lost control, your face to face with the Man who sold the world"
Thailand and all it has to offer means it's still the number one gay holiday destination, in my opinion.

There's more to Thailand, Pattaya and Boyztown than the availability of partners. For those of us who have lived much of our lives without expressing our sexuality (and that's a large number of my generation), it has always been a place where we can feel at home, among friends, safe and respected.
This was first exemplified to me in the mid-nineties when I met an old guy, well into his seventies, whose wife had just died and who had journeyed to Pattaya shortly afterwards. Whenever I saw him (we were both staying in Boyztown but at different hotels) he was with his young man, hand-in-hand. I thought it charming. Like many of us, he had found some sort of ease late in his life.
I suspect that younger gays may find this hard to understand.
Respected!! All that happens is that you, he and every other homosexual isn't confronted. It's got nothing to do with respect. Every Thai knows he's walking around with a prostitute, and they know the same about you. Just because you are in Pattaya, home of sexual perverts, pedophiles, organised criminals and so on, don't think you're somewhere that's typical of Thailand
