Pay no heed to the fool above my dear Mattsan (not you Aunty, I mean dear Billy), he is to the Board as the New York Yankee's mascot (a Horse's Ass last time I looked), or a fat pimp with lousy taste in clothes sashaying down at King's Cross . . . . that is to say, worth ignoring under all scenarios. ( Though I'd hate to see him go :blackeye: ).
The silly boy is correct on one point though (a first!) . . . you can find a heap of info on Howards if you use the Board search feature with a little creativity.

Howard Hotel is neither the best available, and not even close to being the worst to be found in Sunnee.

We stayed there last year and had a thoroughly enjoyable time, though not of the type that would cross all other places off the list. The breakfast in the morning is quite nice and the view can be fun from the open bar/lobby in the evening. I walked in through that bar bleeding from head to toe one night after falling on my face while out for a run on Beach Road (BIG mistake!)and was greeted with ziltch besides "ohhs" and "ahhs" from the assorted Howard's staff. One would think a paper towel might have been offered.
But the bar on the street is a lazy cool & friendly place to start off an evening, or wind down after a long hot drive from upcountry to Pattaya.

The price is right ... especially for the great big room on the top floor overlooking the street (nice balcony). There's a room safe, TV, and a room large enough for a huge (hard) bed and lots of living room furniture as well as a dining area. Sunnee Plaza is all over the area and the rest of the whorehouse is easy walking distance. The 'hong nam' is quite large enough for a small orgy, although we were only two and with me being sorely wounded for a good part of our stay there the sexual tension was somewhat muted . . . but trust me, it has potential.

The service at Howards is what you would wish ... very attentive if that's what you want, very restrained if you are like us, needful of them being seen yet unheard. But all were quite friendly, and if you enjoy being accosted by a few queeny posers when you first check in then the place is for you. (Just shoo them away disdainfully, they won't bother you after that).

Personally I enjoyed the easy-going atmosphere at Howards and the lack of too much cow-towin' to farangs' silly whims and needfullnesses. Just a friendly place to stay in Sunnee area of Pattaya.

Recommended with 3.5 stars out of 5.

    want something more special?

We stayed at Howards earlier this year too - it is really fine - a basic clean guest house. Then we found another place in Jomtien - TWO FACES - the rooms are very beautiful - http://www.twofacesthailand.com/rooms.htm and frankly a bargain at 850Baht per night. Just a personal recommendation :geek:

    Mattsan

I stayed there for a couple of weeks in Aug. 06. The elevator is a real plus most places in Sunee do not have an elevator. I can do a few flights of stairs but sure do like the elevator. Also some time ago I grouched about the safe being on the floor and hard to get at unless you are on hands and knees. This past stay the room had a safe in the closet area up a couple of feet off the floor. Punya, the owner will be a wealth of knowledge if you need some suggestions. When you come back from the pubs about midnight you will be greeted by Punya saying, "Welcome home". I'll stay at Howard's next visit in LOS.

    Which room to get?

    Hi,

I'm thinking it might be fun to stay here for a couple of weeks - but don't know which room to get? The VIP room looks nice, but at 1500 compared to the 600 standard room seems expensive. Can anyone comment on what the standard room is like - as the website does not show a lot.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I liked Howards... I found the beds to be a little hard but I did not have any trouble sleeping. I have recommended the place many times and have always received positive feedback.

The normal rooms are fine. Get the normal room and save more cash for the night life. Just my opinion of course.
