International Music licensing presentation at Pattaya City Hall.

On Friday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, Khun Ronagit, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya chaired a meeting hosted by the JV MCT-Phonorights Company from Bangkok who are responsible for International Music Licensing here in Thailand. Attendees at the meeting included a selection of bar owners, restaurant owners and other late night entertainment owners who play international music at their venues. They are required under the Copyright Act of 1994 to obtain a music license to broadcast international music as well as Thai Music. The company realizes that most venues in Pattaya do not have the correct licenses and will be conducting inspections in conjunction with the Police to ensure that those who do not possess the license will be prosecuted. If you are unsure if your business requires such a license you can call the licensing company on 02 641 5211 or visit their website www.1stopmusic.com
