Today I got my 30 day extension at the new immigration office in Jomtien. In and out in 15 minutes. Lots of help and well organized...as others have reported.

The fee is 1900 bhat but I was handed a bill for 2400 bhat. Asking why, I was told I overstayed one day. She showed me my passport and sure enough, I was. I had made a stupid assumption that a 60 day visa was 2 months and because I arrives on the 15th of Sept, I thought I was good until the 14 of November. What a goof!

I was encouraging that nothing was said during the review of the documents, only when I had to pay. However, I had to wait at the Overstay Desk until my passport was ready. With the stares from others, I felt like the singled out child in school.
