A friend was mentioning that there are some nice bars there: the room, seventy bar, kluen sak, just wondered if anyone had visited and what they thought?

A friend was mentioning that there are some nice bars there: the room, seventy bar, kluen sak, just wondered if anyone had visited and what they thought?

If you enjoy excellent eateries, some nice casual boutique shopping and quality spas then you will find the Soi to your liking.

Unlike most of Bangkok it has some open green spaces so that you are not battling with the traffic the moment you step outside of a building. It can occasionally become congested with traffic but it is a one way system so generally it is free flowing.

I don't know if it has any clubs that would be of interest to the gay crowd though as I have never bothered to find out.

Bangkok - Help raise money for the women's events in Bangkok Pride at the hottest lesbian party of the year!

All women welcome! Come join Anjaree Lesbian Group this Sunday, October 15, for a Bangkok Pride fundraising party at Shela, the lesbian scene's newest, hippest club for women-only! Two hundred baht at the door gets you free drinks from 8:30-9:30, lots of drink specials afterwards and an evening of live bands and dj's spinning all of your favorite Thai and Western pop songs, plus performances and game shows by Anjaree. Also expect a special surprise performance from one of Thailand's hottest female vocalists!

The door opens at 7pm and festivities last until closing time! Shela is on Lang Suan (at the very end of Lang Suan before Sarasin road if you are coming from Chid Lom), across from Nguan Lee Chinese Restaurant. Admakers - arty/gay clientele
Soi Langsuan Live music -- accoustic guitar early, rock band later. Very casual atmosphere popular with Thais and Farangs. If you order correctly, you can eat quite well. Recommend: Penang Curry, Crab omelette, Fried mini-crabs, Wing bean salad Yam catfish, Lemongrass salad.

Went to Paradiso Kara Club once. Expensive weak drinks, the place was full of gay middle aged, middle class, round in the middle, chain smoking Bangkokanians who can't carry a tune in a wash bucket. Not easy to find either.

I'm not sure if it is still around, but there used to be a gay chubbies bar on Sarasin.

And Brown Sugar is highly recommended for jazz lovers...
