Have never been to this place. As Thailand is closed this seems like an easy alternative.

- Anyone been there recently?

Is it reasonably safe? - Are there any no-go areas? - Does it have a good gay scene? - Are the hotels guest friendly? - What's the going rate for a sleeping companion..?

Sorry, no recent, nor in fact unrecent personal exp. from me. But as for most of these ´other as THailand´ Questions; go to the other world wide forum where experts excahnge views and tips: boytoy.com. Soe smartie can likely after me provide a direct link.

Due to its geographic position most reviews will come from people from nearby USA.
If you happen to be EURopean- the well known MB sauna, Thermos, in Barcelona also regularly had guys from there. But my very limited experience from there made me appeal for the 1. COLombians followed by 2.Brasilians. NO idea though how this sauna operates, if at all, at the moment.

The Sauna Thermas (not Thermos) in Barcelona was open until last Friday, when all the bars, restaurants, spas and public sport centers were forced to close due to the sharp increase of Covid-19 infections. Closure is expected for a mere 15 days, but it will be most likely extended.

Dominican MBs are known for being straight and almost exclusively tops. Much better are other Latin American MBs, especially Colombians and Venezuelans. Brazilians have a reputation to provide low and fast service for much more money than others. My personal preference goes to Cuban boys who are usually the hottest in bed.

I last went to Cuba 20 years ago - nice place and some fun people, but there were strict rules preventing tourists from taking anyone back to their rooms, of either sex.

So for a bed one had to find a 'casa particular' (IIRC) and it was short time or nothing..

..is that still the case?

Yes, this is still the case.

You need to rent an Apartment to be able to take a lad back for pleasure fun.

The guys will not want to go to a hotel because of the risk of Police arriving and embarrassment.
