    Jomtien condo fire overnight

Although this report is in Thai, if you're using Chrome it will offer to translate - https://www.77kaoded.com/content/1172167. The headline says "100 dead" but I suspect it's a mistranslation and is actually something like "100 escape death"

    https://thepattayanews.com/2020/01/05/early-morning-fire-breaks-out-at-luxury-jomtien-condo-more-than-100-tourists-evacuated

Fire was at the Laguna Beach condominium building over 100 tourists evacuated.

I was about to add that at 5am in the morning in any hotel they were lucky that there weren't casulaties and sure enough the article above talks about how people wouldn't leave their rooms and assumed it was a fire drill or chose to ignore the alarm ( or were too pissed to notice perhaps), so maybe lucky that the first was contained to the one (empty) room for a while which gave people the chance to escape when they did finally decide to take it seriously. A close call perhaps for some !
