On my last two visits, I walked into a View Talay office and was able to rent a condo starting the next day. Was I astoundingly lucky?
there are many possible answers to your question, including but not limited to:
- there are better places to stay than View Talay so no you were not lucky
- there are worse places to stay than View Talay so yes you were lucky
- there is View Talay and there is View Talay - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, bungalows, etc - so you may or may not have been lucky
- after the recent Hua Hin court case decisions the availability of apartments and condos for short term holiday rental (<30 days) may - or may not - decline significantly depending on the enforcement of the existing laws in various locations, so you may not be so "lucky" next time
