It gets crowed at times with obnoxious tourists being floated and herded about. Consider the Connect boat trip or arrange something on your own to some of the less traveled islands north of James Bond.

If you do arrange your own, get off of Patong where the prices are highest for boats.

    Many Thanks

Worth a visit ,but was a little disappointed when we took a private boat that landed on one side and when we walked over the top was confronted with all the sellers on the other. Bit of a let down.. Particuarly when you travel from the other side of the World. However worth the trip.

Worth the visit, in my view. From Phuket, you drive for an hour or more up to Paghna (spelling) and then take a boat from there to see this island and a few others. This island had the most tourists (and tour boats) but still was worth seeing. We had fun in any event.

Hey baziel and TOQ, after having a butchers at those great pictures I will definitely be visiting now. I have already booked my accomodation in Bangkok so was planning on an early flight from there to Phucket and returning to Bangkok later the same day, is that recommended or best I find some where to stay that night in Phuket ?

    Many thanks

You might want to say a couple of nights and enjoy the beach and night life. But if you cant do that you will really need to spend one night and then to the airport the next day.. Your trip to the islands will take all day..

try this link to see what I mean.

I am a Pattaya fan, but if you are going to Phuket, don't do it all in one day. enjoy the beach and meet a thai friend the day you arrive an invite him to to go with you on the boat trip. It will add a whole new dimention to the trip to James Bond Island. Suggest a couple of days. Look at Connect perhaps for lodging and making boat trip reservation. You also might look at Blue Dolphin for lodging, as it has sauna attached. You will have a great time and perhaps we will meet at Pattaya toward the end of your stay. Dinner will be on me as you tell me about Phuket.

I like the kyak pics. How long is the kyak part of the trip. Do you have to work hard to paddle the kyak. I will be about 70 and don't want to kill myself proving I can keep up. I am not in super bad shape and can walk for hours if necessay. On a scale of 1 to 10 how strenuous is the kyak part of the trip.

The kayak part is about 1 hour.

You not have to paddle your self just relax and look around. :flower:
