    Rak Haeng Siam: Director's Cut

It's been released. Alas, there is no English. But it's great -- lots of details are explained and cleared up, and the whole enterprise reminds me strongly of Peter Jackson's "Extended Editions" of his LOTR series -- where the "extended editions" were simply the movie as he saw it in the first place.

Wonderful stuff! (So far: I'm only about 30 minutes into it.)

    Hi Henry
I downloaded a "directors cut" of the movie from gay torrents during the week
This one has hardcoded english subs and is 2Hrs51Mins long... Not sure if this is the full directors cut or not (thiught the one the showed in Bkk was 4 hours?)

How long is the movie that you have?
    Thanks!

For those who are wondering what torrents are...

    The URL is:
    http://www.gay-torrents.net
You will need to register there to join...

You will also need a torrent client such as uTorrent
    http://www.utorrent.com/

And I recommend the VLC player for watching the downloaded movie:
    http://www.videolan.org/

    Directors cut(MP4)
    http://www.gay-torrents.net/torrent/58762

    Original Cinema version (AVI)
    http://www.gay-torrents.net/torrent/58047

The original DVD Version (4.7GB no subtitles!) is also available - buti can't link to it as my ratio is so crap!

Have only seen the original cinema version so far... will prob watch the directors cut over the weekend
    Enjoy the move (you will!)

And don't forget practically all the gay porn in the world is also available at gay torrents!

I thought the theatrical release was about 160 min. So 178 isn't really all that much more. I was almost positive that I read the director's cut that showed at the theater in BKK was 4 hours. So I suppose there could be more than one "director's cut". Could you see much difference between the regular theatrical release and the DVD?

    Movie Length

The vanilla DVD is 150 minutes, so you get an extra 28 minutes with the director's cut.

Many thanks for the torrent tips. I got the MP4 with the English subtitles and a lotof little things became magically clear! :-) Of course, I've always felt that understanding movies in a foreign language was quite difficult. My best friend speaks great English, but he still gets totally lost with material like "Kind Hearts and Coronets." :-)

    Sigh! Back to work tomorrow!

    Opinions are like...

"Ohhh a bunch of over the hills GWMs giggling and blushing like high school girls over a crappy thai teenage movie! Please don't compare it Peter Jackson's LOTR - it's an insult!"

Well, opinions are like assholes -- everyone has them. You speak as though the LOTR films were a masterpiece beyond compare. My own opinion: I have loved the Tolkien books since the age of 12 or so. I thought the best film BY FAR was "Fellowship" -- but all the Oscars were awarded to "Return of the King," an abysmal film.

As for Rak Haeng Siam being a "crappy Thai teenage movie," well, I'm sure the Recording Angel will put that down on Your Permanent Record, as well as your happy and even-tempered reference to "over the hills GWMs."

I don't know about you, but I personally am an "Underhill GWM," residing somewhere on Bag End (which was JRR Tolkien poking fun at the French "cul-de-sac").

    Peace and wuv,bruvver
