    PRIDE FESTIVAL SEXY SWIMSUIT DISPUTE

    Wow Guys, have Pride Festival gotten their swimsuits in a twist this year?!?!?!?

    For the past several years dragoncastle has been the sponsor of Pride's Sexy Swimsuit Contest. Now Telephone Pub in Silom Soi 4 says it is the Official New Sponsor. Check out their websites for full details.

    We spoke to some of those involved with Pride Festival this year:
    One man who wishes to remain anonymous told us: 'dragoncastle is not a suitable sponsor anymore. All those photos of semi-naked young men, the contact ads for moneyboys and the links to hardcore porno sites do not accord with the new image Pride Festival wants to send to the Thai public'. He went on: 'OK, so he sponsored in the past but heck, last year the guy did not even bother to turn up for the contest he was sponsoring'.

    Another interested party told Pride News: 'dragoncastle is a personal friend of mine and a good customer. I will move heaven and earth with the committee to ensure that dragoncastle remains the sponsor'.

    What will happen next? Who will get the committee's approval? Stay tuned to Pride News

    With your first post, I guess now your the Offical Pride Spokes person, who ever you are?

    Frankly, I'm with Homi on this, who cares. None of these contests/competitions are the slightest interest to me, just my opinion.

    "We", are there two or more of you?

    Thais don't even care

    For a city as big as Bangkok the Pride festival is a ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL JOKE!!!

    A huge waste of time and not interesting in the least. I attended my first years parade about 4 years ago and what a dissapointment. Standing there watching all of 3 or 400 people marching down Suriwong Rd.

    SHOCKING DEBACLE AT BANGKOK PRIDE - SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

    Curious how things slide off topic. I like a good gay parade occasionally but not too often. I am not clear what they are all about and I do feel that they present a rather warped side of the homosexual world to the public. There again marching men in suits would not be very interesting.

    Now I have always enjoyed the Dragoncastle sexy swimsuit competition despite the heat in that suntrap swimming pool. They always seem to have some very beautiful young men who enter. I will post photos on request.

    To shun Dragoncastle because of his website one could about justify but not to move to a new sponsor Telephone bar which, I gather, is noted for the numbers of money boys in attendance!

    Oddly I received a newsletter from Dragoncastle which contained this:

    <http://www.dragoncastle.net>

    Welcome to Dragoncastle's Newsletter for April 2007!

    Dragoncastle's Sexy Swim Suit Contest 2007

    Bangkok's Pride Festival Committee has said that Dragoncastle.net remains the sponsor of the popular Sexy Swim Suit Contest <http://www.dragoncastle.net/gayfestival.shtml> at this time, as no decisions have yet been made about Pride in the Park.

    This follows a claim made on Telephone Pub's website that "the 2007 Sexy Swimsuit contest held yearly at Pride in the Park has a new sponsor." The news item on Telephone Pub's website continues by saying "Bangkok Pride Festival has awarded the sponsorship to Telephone Pub."

    Pride Festival Committee issued this statement on April 12: "I am not sure where you read about Sexy Swim Suit Contest being awarded to Telephone, but that is not true. The sporting events are still in the planning stages, I have spoken to (website rep), to already start arranging Dragoncastle to be the sponsor, Telephone has not made any such request.

    Pride Festival Committee."

    Dragoncastle has asked Telephone Pub to explain the statement made on their website but has received no reply to repeated emails.

    The annual sexy swim suit contest has always been the most popular event at Pride in the Park, but the new Pride committee have yet to decide if Pride in the Park will take place in 2007, or if it will be
    held in a new location. The Pride Festival is scheduled for November 3-11, 2007.....

    Dragoncastle's Gay Dating Sees Another Major Upgrade

    Our popular free gay dating service
    <http://www.dragoncastle.net/gaydating/index.php>
    recently had yet another major upgrade to the operating system.

    We regularly apply upgrades to keep improving the system, both on the
    backend (operating and admin side) and on the frontend - that's the
    part you see.

    Members can now see their message history, upload music and videos,
    have guestbooks and blogs, can upload up to 50 photos, send instant
    messages, and chat live with other online members. There are lots
    more features too.

    We often get messages telling us that someone has met 'Mr Right'
    through Dragoncastle, and we are rightly proud of that. You can also
    meet Mr Right, or just Mr Right For Tonight!

    New On Dragoncastle!

    We have introduced a new feature called "Gay Talk
    <http://www.dragoncastle.net/talk/>
    ", where you are free to discuss anything that's gay related, men,
    dating, travel, pride, or whatever. There is also a Question & Answer
    section where we (or any of our members) try to answer any questions
    you might have, about anything!

    Join in the Gay Talk <http://www.dragoncastle.net/talk/>

    - its going to get busy!

    ==============================================

    Mr Koh came second!

    ==============================================

    I have not managed to trace anything currently on this topic on the Pride or Telephone websites. Who can Pride News be? Is he an official representative of Bangkok Pride or did he steal their logo?

    Lunchtime, dear, judging from the average age of the sponsors and colostomy-bag-carrying attendees, calling it the Prune Festival would be more appropriate.

    In the Park

    I've always thought it amusing that "Gay Pride" holds an event in Bangkok's largest open-air beat - Lumpini Park
