    The Delete-Own-Post feature

TO THE MODERATOR: obviously this post is "not about Thailand", but please don't remove this topic to hell right away. Lots of folks do not seem to know about this feature as the Board has many double posts right now.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There seems to be a lot of double postings lately, mostly due to a glitch in the Board's functioning on occasion: i.e. once you hit 'SUBMIT' the Board every so often does not show the correct confirmation-of-post message, ths making it "feel" like the message has not taken. But in fact it has.

(E.G. Ttom's thread entitled "Don Muang to be reactivated for national flights:April 2007" has been submitted twice. Because ~ at this moment at least ~ neither of the posts has been replied to, Ttom can go back into one an he will find the Delete button in each post. Thus, he has the ability to completely get rid of one of them without the Moderator's having to do it for him).

So what happens is the Board receives a double post ... either inside an ongoing thread, or the start of a new one.

This Board has a self-delete button which you can use to delete one of your double posts. The main problem is that the delete button only appears in the LAST post of any thread, so you must get back to it and delete it quickly. Once another member has replied to your post, the delete button is gone for you.

So ... if you noticed that you've double posted, quickly go back and use the delete feature, and voila, no more message. The Delete button is small and rather innocuous, so here's a screen shot to show you where to look.

    Hope this helps ...

Just another reason why I love living in Thailand

However the final paragraph was different.
That one remains the other is in the big file.
