Clumsy Kiwi cop accidentally stuns himself

    November 18, 2006 - 10:00AM

A clumsy New Zealand policeman attending a domestic dispute accidentally shot himself and a teenager with a stun gun before pepper-spraying an innocent woman, reports said on Friday. The constable was loading his weapon when he accidentally blasted himself with the stun gun's 50,000 volts while trying to stun a man at the centre of the incident last month, the New Zealand Herald reports. Another shot hit the man's 16-year-old son. After five attempts to hit the man, the officer eventually used pepper spray, but succeeded only in hitting the man's 21-year-old daughter - an unintended target.

The wanted man eventually gave himself up.

Probably didn't have any energy left, after laughing so much, to flee the scene

This somewhat mirrors the Police Minister in NSW

who a month ago held a press conference in Parliament House and broke one of the most ancient conventions..bringing one ( or any weapon) of these odious weapons into the precint to demonstrate to a goggle eyed media. A hapless public servant was "stunned" and howled in anguish as he collapsed while the Minister and the press reptiles chortled in amusment. Meanwhile the President of the House, from the Minister's own party, vowed to call him to account.

We now have a new Police Minister as the other contemplates life outside politics.

I'm just wondering how long it takes for the idiot public servant to contact lawyers and sue the government for grevious bodily harm.
