    Why didn’t Vietnam get a mention? They have done far better according to this website.

    Re: WHO Recognizes Thailand's Covid Achievements

    Thailand’s numbers “speak for themselves,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in closing remarks to the World Health Assembly, which took place this week.

    Praising Thailand is fair enough, but let's not forget the terrible policies of the WHO at the start of this pandemic.

    For comparison, read what Tedros was saying in February 2020 in the following link.
    He was essentially arguing against travel bans in and out of China, when most of the infections were in China.
    Having held the stable door open for the horse to bolt, he later changed his stance and is criticizing European countries for not locking down enough.

    When we look at the result of following WHO advice and NOT restricting travel out of China in January & February, again "the numbers speak for themselves".

    The WHO also doesn't permit Taiwan to directly participate in the information sharing either.
    The top contributors to the WHO really should have made funding conditional on fixing this problem. {Top contributors were: 1 USA; 2 Bill Gates; 3 UK; Although Trump has temporarily changed this}

    Taiwan did a fantastic job and should be praised for that. That there could be a huge Gay Pride parade 15 days ago with 100,000 participants and no reported cases thereafter is an amazing achievement.

    Vietnam was also doing better than Thailand until the second wave arrived in Danang a couple of months or so ago and the city was locked down. Since then its infection curve has risen. Presumably that’s why Thailand got the credit.
