    Bangkok Elections - Soi Twilight

Can anyone advise what happens in Soi Twilight on the Election weekend (and the advance voting the weekend before)?

Does the place close down? or are all the bars open / not serving alcohol?

    thanks

I'm pretty sure the entire nation had their elections last weekend.... No? Nothing was significantly affected. Not even the voting itself..... for the most part ......as far as I know. My bf voted. ( The "No Vote" check box, as is the cool thing to do, apparently. )

So is Soi Twilight open during the election days / alcohol ban? do they still serve alcohol?

Er ... am I missing something here? The election happened on Feb 2 ... the advance polling (such as it was) a week before that.
Here it is Feb 14 (now 15) and Yorkboy still posing the question. The OP was in fact put up on Feb 12?? :-?

Let's just make it a universal question: no boozing on election day during the polls-open period, but after the polls closed (here in Hua Hin that is) the bars opened. Alcohol available at 7-11's on the same basis ... during the poll-open time the intrepid 7-11 staff covered up the beer section with pieces of cardboard :-s : yes, you could not even observe alcohol during the day! That part was very difficult for me.

This for YorkBoy, just in case he's in Thailand for the next election. If it's a coup instead of an election, then the bars will probably ~ but not necessarily ~ close for that day . . . but next day, no problem.
Just another reason why I love living in Thailand

Smiles, thanks your very informative reply.

And yes you are missing something.
This from the Bangkok Post :

So whilst your point that February is in the past, as far as I am aware we are all still to experience April 27th (even you)

All I wanted to know was in past elections what was the norm on Soi Twilight?

    Thank You
