Abhisit clearly remembers his time in Thatcher's Britain and learned its lessons. It was Margaret Thatcher who used routinely to refer to (Saint) Nelson Mandela, then still imprisoned, as a "terrorist". Abhisit now describes Pheu Thai's supporters (ie. a democratic party contesting a democratic election) as "terrorists". The word first came to be used during the French Revolution to describe government agents who were part of the government's Reign of Terror.
