    Putting Obama into perspective

Oprah Winfrey: "This is the most meaningful thing that has ever happened"

Matthew Parris who is a (gay) writer on UK politics (and a former Tory MP) has a recent column on reactions to Obama's election. His wish? "I hope he will let us down gently"

Calm down! He's not the President of the World - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/commen ... 109994.ece

"somebody we may one day judge as a sort of Tony Blair with brains".
