Can anyone tell me what I am missing. Your's works?

    For instance:

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=8Ci5tN7h8E8& ... ed&search=
If you're using Keepvid and getting a htm file saved, you're not doing the right thing ...

    1. Go to http://keepvid.com/
    2. Enter the youtube URL you gave into the box at the top.
    3. Click download button at right.
    4. Keepvid will check the URL and soon present you with the following under the Download title bar:
    "Original link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8Ci5tN7h8E8& ... ed&search=
тА║тА║ Download Link тА╣тА╣ (.flv - Flash Video)
Note: Please rename the file from get_video to get_video.flv after you have downloaded it."
    5. Right click on the 'Download Link' text, select Save Link As ... (note I'm doing is in Firefox)
    6. The default name in the Save As file name box is .. get_video.htm. Change this to whatever_you_want.FLV. Or you can wait until it's saved before changing the name.
    7. Download should start after a short delay. If the system is busy, it may fail (rare). This FLV is around 5mb.
    8. You should now have a FLV file (flash video) saved. You need an FLV player to play it, such as the one linked at the bottom of the Keepvid page, or the VLC player. These will recognize the FLV file automatically (assuming that is how you named it) and play it.

Re other methods, not sure about the Firefox plugin error you got. Maybe because you have javascript disabled ? (eg via the NoScript plugin or Torpark ?). If so, this might also affect Keepvid.

Note many of the download tools only work with certain sites. Most work with youtube, but may not work with others unless they list those sites as supported.

Well, I guess I didn't try KeepVid, which worked right away, thank you. But I'm still having problems with the Firefox plugin (same message) and dlThis where I am now getting a FLV link but it is a wrong link. Anyway I'm on my way to making YouTube movies of YouTube movies (on my way to an HD Camcorder by Christmas). Far out.

I'm using a rather tame Firefox 2.0.0.6 (latest). I also have Torpark 1.5.0.7, which still works. I've tried to replace it with Torpark 2.0.0.3a. If I execute 2.0.0.3a all I get is hundreds of torpark.exe applications running in the windows task manager until I manage to kill them all. Does anyone know about this problem?

Torpark has been renamed / replaced by the Zero Bank browser.

It is not wise to add Firefox plugins to those supplied with Torpark / Zero Bank, as your security may be compromised. The specific plugins bundled with TP / ZB to enhance security are tested for leaks before release.

Plugins in general are not fool-proof, as they are developed by the user community and may not be bug-free.

Yes, yes, yes. It appears to me that the 2.0.0.3a Torpark/Firefox combination is the last freely available download and that "2.0.0.4a" is now the commercial ZeroBank browser. So get your 2.0.0.3a Torpark/Firefox combo now. If only I could get my 2.0.0.3a download to load and run properly, which I can't.

"Yes, yes, yes" ??? ... hmmm.

The ZB browser (formerly torpark) is currently at v2.0.0.6a and still free. I have download it from the URL above and used it in Thailand. Click on 'download now', not 'free trial'. The latter refers to ZB Plus which is not free.

    It works for me.

It's great to know someone's all updated and that got me the determination to 'solve' this today.

I tried the 2.0.0.6a update which got past the ZB2004a "enter auth # from web site" screen but put me right back to the problem that all that happens is that executing torpark results in infinite spawnings of "torpark.exe" until I use the power off button or the system shuts down, suddenly, all on its own.

I can't believe I am the only one in the world with this problem as it seems.

For some reason I find Torpark/Firefox "Help/Check for update" is working again and I managed to re-load 1.5.0.7 (from my zip archives on CD - but I see it still available by internet search) and update 1.5.0.7 that way through about 5 steps (1.5.0.12, ... 2.0.0.3,4) up to FF 2.0.0.6 bundled with Torpark . If you're getting these same problems that I am, all I can suggest is to start at 1.5.0.7a and update through Help/Check for Update under the FireFox "Help".

I ran across this message today:

    Torpark is moving.

    Site Temporarily Unavailable

    Hi!

The site you have requested is temporarily unavailable.

The hosting company for this site, NearlyFreeSpeech.NET, is engaged in a full-scale facilities move today, Monday, September 10, 2007. Unfortunately, that means we had to take this web site offline temporarily in order to transport it safely by truck to its new home.

Don't worry, this site will be back soon, better than ever!

In the mean time, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will check back in a couple of hours.
It appears that I am attempting to move at just the wrong time, again.
