Logic would dictate that there must be Reservation Clerks and at least 2 Reservation Managers in order to justify a *Senior* Reservation Manager. Yet, despite the ‘creative’ staffing levels, they *still* can’t answer the phone
If anyone else remembers the Suriwongse Hotel Cafe Shop, any customer wishing to pay the bill had to attract the attention of a waiter, who then passed the request to the head waiter, who then passed the request to the manager who passed it to the cashier, who rang it through the cash register and worked out the change - which was then handed all the way back down the chain of command.
Highly amusing - but less so if you had a taxi waiting

I’ve stayed at Zing a lot over the last few years and have not had any problems with my reservation, although if I manage a June trip I am confident just to do a walk in.
The rooms are basic but adequate and some a quite large. It’s not a predominately gay hotel but can be described as boy friendly. I like to sit by the rather nice pool often with boyfriends.
I'd add the fact that many of the staff are themselves gay, more than I've seen at any other Thai hotel, including those which identify as being gay.
One correction, there are two swimming pools, the smaller of the two being our favourite.
If you book, do so direct by email. Better prices than on Agoda et al.
I don't like Zing. Stayed there once, ran after 1 or 2 days, and don't want anymore - too much parents with nasty and noisy kids.
