My understanding is that without such a document, as in Prince's case the Courts will award those assets to your closest living relative/s. So your Thai bf, his family and others here you might wish to leave something to after your death would legally not be entitled to receive anything.
Oh, and make sure that will is in place where the authorities will find easily it!
