If possible though, maybe try a salad only diet for 2 or 3 weeks. .

My Thailand experience dates from 1989. Some thoughts from my seventh decade:

    1. Engagement: find something that rivets you (besides bar hopping) and dive into it. I suspect many expats get cultural ennui resulting from a very narrow focus on Thailand (i.e., guys). If Thailand is your home now, take on a broader spectrum.

    2. Physical activity -- regular exercise of your choice makes a quantum difference in your experience of life.

    3. Contextualize and integrate sex into a bigger picture -- very much an individual thing and there will be differences. But think above the waist.

    4. Thailand has a lot of geographical beauty. Get out and experience some.

    5. Don't go Borg with your laptop. Regularly practice digital detox.

    6. Entertainment venues are great, but explore some cultural ones also.

    7. In re: eating, drinking, smoking: moderately / sanely / don't.
