Canadian and European posters, did you sponsor your thai bf?

I was talking to a friend of mine about how hard it is to bring a foreign bf to live permanently to the U.S. We discussed about Canadian and European laws. Obviously, those countries allow the foreign gay partners to emigrate. So, would anyone care to share how hard/easy it was, and whether it was worth it?
