I assume this is the phallas which has been pinched.
It's the largest one in Phanom Rung and sits in the very middle of the temple complex, obviously one of the main figures of worship there. Must have taken some serious muscle to get that puppy out of there.

I think 'sandcastle' means 'sandstone'. Though Remote Control's take on it (below) as 'stone castle' is probably more likely.



(Thanks to GWMinUS for that photo. I had a few shots of it some years ago, but they ~ like the Phanom Rung Dildo ~ seem to have disappeared from my photo collection).

It is a rather unfortunate direct translation of the site's Thai name, "Prasart Hin Phanom Rung". Actually, I would translate it word for word as "Phanom Rung Stone Castle".
