Thailand's coup leader General Sonthi Boonyaratglin refused to rule out another putsch if allies of the ousted prime minister win next month's elections.
He said it would be acceptable if the People Power Party, made up of former members of ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra's dissolved party, won the December 23 polls, but not if their victory created turmoil in the kingdom.
"We will have to look at it again - it's a matter for the future," he said when asked by reporters if the army would stage another coup.
"It's the law, not the people who will judge who's right or wrong," Sonthi said, and challenged Thaksin to return to Thailand

so merry Xmas's already in case the stories will happen

It has been known for some time amongst the political/military elite in Bangkok that should the elections in December open the door far enough for the possible return of Mr. T then the army would take steps to ensure that the door was shut closed again.

Mr. T's earlier actions are perceived by many to have been a direct challenge to the King's authority and the military are determined not to allow the possibility of another challenge imagined or otherwise occur.

Thaksin has only to wait until Bhumphibhol dies. By all accounts he has either of the prospective monarchs in his pocket
