use firefox - they have add ons that let you do this
Why bother? Save the URL to your 'Favourites' and view 'em anytime you want.
'Favourites' are the new 'Hard Drive'. (Soon to be supplanted by your new ~ Bucknaway's that is ~ 'Virtual Brain': just as 'Brown' is the new 'Black' (at least it was 2 months ago) ... can't wait).

Youtube videos are FLV files (flash video). After downloading you need a free FLV player to play them, or a multiformat player than includes FLV (eg 'VLC Player').
