Having just returned from Manila I can quite honestly say that The Philippines rates top of my list for Third World Shit Holes. Pollution, traffic congestion worse than Bangkok or Jakarta, driving on the wrong side of the road, unfriendly natives, over-priced services and a 52nd State of the USA attitude

And the Ninoy Aquino Airport is beyond belief for total kaos and disorganisation.

It took 75 minutes just to get inside the terminal's main doors and then a further 120 minutes to go thru security checks, check-in, security checks, immigration, security checks (everyone remove your shoes and put them thru the scanner), waiting lounge and the endless questions from airline staff, security checks before boarding and leaving late because some poor bastards were caught up in one or another of the security checks

Get to Manila airport 4 hours before your flight leaves - you may just make it
