Location Outside Pattaya for Extended Holiday?

Much prefer somewhere more laid back, tranquil, sleepy village town vibe where you can easily walk around to street markets / shops without lots of traffic to worry about, etc.

I guess you have never been to Chonburi. Look at the map*, they built a bridge over the sea to get some of the traffic out of town. (* You haven't mentioned you are blind in a while.)

Want to turn the house basically into private club, so go out to Pattaya when necessary, make connections, bring guys back, and from there just let things flow. Some I'm sure will stay several days or weeks, some will show up few times a week, others will be one night only, etc. Would prefer to bring the entertainment home though instead of going out to the bars. Does that make sense?

That's many people's fantasy, me included, but I have never heard of anyone make it work. I sometimes struggle to get one guy to come to my place, and the problem is not on my side.

Issue is, location. I only really know Pattaya and not the surrounding area. Thinking of places such as Rayong, Bang Saray, Rayon, Huai Yai, Koh Lan..

Sri Ratcha has a girly scene that caters to Japanese (engineers and administrative staff of the many factories, I assume), but nothing gay as far as I could see. I would avoid islands, for higher prices and less choice of everything on the island and traveling time by boat.

I guess even the outskirts of Pattaya, in particular the other side of Sukhumvit road, and surely the other side of the railway, is far away from all the hustle and bustle of Pattaya, but still in easy reach. As far as I can tell, there or 50 km further away makes no difference other than having to travel 50 km more.
