Patanawet may well be correct. Thai good manners. For bar-workers, it's difficult for a guy who works under (sic) a formidable mamasan to say "no". After all, the bar would lose money.
And sometimes, an underpaid guy may demand a better reward for a second assignation.

I can confirm that there are no fuck shows anymore in Bangkok go-go bars. I was there last week and went to shows in three bars. they all consists of drag queens doing lip sync and boys doing some sort of dance number. That's it, basically.
