    Something different. Mum Aroy.

Was invited to an Italian restaurant called Mum Aroy last week.
It is situated about 8 miles outside Pattaya on the road to Sattahip. Located just mile for Buddha Mountain.
An ideal trip would be a visit to Buddha mountain followed by an evening meal at Mum Aroy.
First pic is a view of Buddha mountain.

The restaurant is Italian styled and overlooks a lake and some Italian looking buildings. When we arrived it was not busy so we ate and then had a drink outside looking at the sunset over Buddha Mountain.

You can either eat inside in a huge restaurant or outside in the gardens.

You’ll see from the pics that the place was more or less deserted until sunset when plenty of people arrived.

Recommended if you haven’t been to the area before.

Caution. We took a Bolt Taxi there and planned to use one to return to Pattaya. After about 8 pm none were available in the area! Guess all running around Pattaya. Managed to get a ride back with an acquaintance.

Forgot to say food is primarily Seafood but they did have some meat alternatives.

They also had a singer ……NOT like in Jomtien. Was classic background music! See the last pic of him on a stage.

Wow Gerfan2 - thanks for sharing this with us.

In some of the pictures it looks truly like you are in Italy - especially in the last photo - as it seems to be in Tuscany somewhere.

You mentioned that the food was primarily seafood - where there any Italian dishes ?
Or is it an Italian setting with Thai seafood?

    Thanks,
    M.

It always amazed me how many national-oriented places that Pattaya had/s-starting with the Germans (Austrians and Swiss also welcome, but they even have also their own places). But ITalians were not that many among that. But also Swedish, Finnish, Belgian, English, Now starting up the Russky, etc.
Even though it seems ITalian ´farang´ food is the most prevalent of all such foodtypes all over THailand.

Words of Wisdom cribbed from somewhere:
Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs Italian, the mechanics German, the lovers French, and it is all organized by the Swiss. Hell is where the police are German, the chefs British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss, and it is all organized by the Italians.
