WHY oh WHY do bars do this? I just don't get it. There is such a thing as "loud music" and then there is such a thing as "painful" music levels.

Good question.

The only thing I can think of is that younger Thais often equate LOUD MUSIC to FUN - and the LOUDER the music is - the more fun they think people are having. This isn't much different than what I experienced growing up in the 70's when LOUD music at public venues ruled.

Beer and Mak should know better. Maybe they just don't care anymore...who knows.

I visited Nice Boys the other evening. Did not like what I saw and soon left. Not for me I'm afraid.

69 Bar in Jomtien has some very nice looking Cambodians but almost none of them speak any English.

I visited Nice Boys on Friday evening. There were six other customers and 3 or 4 boys all in jeans.
About midnight everyone got up and left.
Very disappointing.

I'm with you Posh. I don't see how a moutache goes with a femme bottom boy.

At one point, I wondered if it was based on laziness to shave -- and the "well known belief" that when you shave it, it will grow back bigger and thicker.
