    Pattaya's prospects

A glimmer of hope last night when we ate in Pattaya's Central. Royal Garden had been disappointingly quiet on Sunday and the top floor restaurant where we've eaten on numerous occasions since 2004 (and in my case for nine years before that) was closed.

I hesitate to claim too much for Central but the restaurant floors were doing well. A couple even had queues of waiting customers at about 1900. Our choice, MK, was nearly full.

Thai, falang and Arabic customers. Only the Chinese were missing.

Tonight we'll be eating in Terminus 21 which, pre-Covid, was dominated by Chinese visitors. Can Pattaya survive without them? Central suggests that it can.
