    Tarntawan Hotel bathroom query

A friend has often stayed at the Tarntawan in the past, but recalls all their shower facilities are “shower over bath”. Unfortunately he’s at the walking stick stage of life, and won’t be clambering in or out of baths. Does anyone know if they have rooms with separate showers? How could he contact the hotel (email?) to confirm such an arrangement

    Thanks in advance

Call them or email them. Several years ago they removed the bathtubs in several rooms but don't know what the out come was.

The standard Thai answer came back - “no have”

A friend was at Tarntawan a week ago and had a suite (from Agoda) at about 1400 Baht. The suites have both a shower and a separate bathtub. The regular rooms have just a bathtub (with shower)
The suites are corner units. Only problem was the door to bathroom blocked view of the shower stall so he used the bathtub until someone informed him of the shower stall.

The suites are very spacious. They include a small kitchen, though why anyone would wish to miss out on the cuisine options in BKK is beyond me.

The Corner suite I was in at the end of March (room 600) had a separate shower, with a 6 inch step, and a bath. No sign of a kitchen so those must be in better rooms. I'm currently in an ordinary room where the shower is over the bath.

On a separate issue this hotel wants a real passport (not a photo) or an id card for joiners. On 3 occasions in my case the joiner has had to get a taxi back home to get the id. I mostly like the Tarntawan which is reasonably priced, near Patpong, has a 7/11 nearby, and does what it promises to do.

Who wants to return to their room after drinking all night and worry about falling in some outdated bathtub???

The Tarntawan suites I've stayed in before had separate showers as shown below:

@Mancs - I am planning to stay at the Tarntawan in November - Provided the travel restrictions have been removed by then. I want to make sure I understand your comment correctly - are you saying that if you want to bring someone to your room at this hotel - that guest has to have his PASSPORT on him? ID card not accepted? That's ridiculous - who walks around with their passport in their pocket? I may have to consider other hotels - any suggestions? I like the Tarntawan because of it's location, reported quiet there, and reasonable price. Thanks for any more info you share.
