I was prompted by a story online about it is said the increasing number of “straight”men who paint their fingernails. I’ve occasionally noticed that newly arrived expats often organise more grooming activities for themselves. Haircuts (aka. Head jobs) are more frequent, manicures or even pedicures become a more regular occurrence. Maybe it’s the attraction of a handsome young man fawning over them. Facials are more popular although in one salon I shant name, waiting for the “peel “ to work its magic has been known to encourage a certain form of kindness from the “beautician” (I guess that’s what well call him. How many posters on their trips to Thailand indulge in personal grooming activities that they don’t have “back home”?
