The following report from S&P contains interesting information of how Russia arrived at its figures. Note that the the Russian figures include wheat from the Crimea and the Donbas regions, which are internationally recognized as illegally annexed Ukrainian territories. Note, too, that the expected yields are dependent on the weather.

The Russian government's official numbers include the territory of Crimea, unlike the USDA's. The Ukrainian government's statistics also exclude Crimea and the conflict zones in the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.

I imagine, too, that the yield depends on having people and machinery to harvest it. I understand Russian combine harvesters are built with CLASS technology, i.e, technology from a German company. Getting parts, etc., might be a problem. Replacing the dead and wounded killed in Ukraine might take longer.
No. Russia does not include Donbass as it is counted as independent state.

And about harvesters: have you even heard about RostSelMash - Russian manufacturer of harvesters what controls about 19% of world's harvesters market? Besides RostSelMash Russia has 3 more big manufacturers of harvesters and few more middle sized.

Some of RostSelMash harvesters may even work without pilot:

More rumors circulating of Russian generals plotting a coup against Putin.

Can't really blame them, as being a Russian general is a fairly dangerous occupation these days considering how many of them Ukraine keeps knocking off.

Darling, such rumors circulating only in brainless heads. Persons with brain knows what army isn't power player in Russia: everything is controlled by security services here. And Putin, as a formerly member of that clan, has full trust from them: as a formerly head of FSB he is warrant for saving their leading role in Russia.

Well, doesn't really matter. Russia is still getting their asses handed to them by a much smaller defender, and it'll only begin getting worse in the near future now that Biden has reauthorized the lend-lease program.

And UN warns that millions will die shortly if that port in Odessa isn't opened back up within 60 days.

Russia recognized the two occupied area as "independent states" after they are occupied by Russian troops. That's is like robbers taking over your has but saying you still own it.

I assume that you were counting the Russian, and probably the Belarussian, Crimean and Donbass markets along with those of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Georgia and the Republic of South Africa in the 19% of the world's harvesters market (https://world-agritech.com/2021/08/3...-production/)? The latest figures I can find for harvester-thresher production are from 2019 https://wits.worldbank.org/trade/com...product/843351), and show that Russia exported only 977 of them, far down the list dominated by the PRC (14,395), the EU (8,049), the USA (5,657), Thailand (1,754) and Japan (1,018). I have not doubt that Russian production has increased since this figures were compiled - but then, so have those of the countries listed.

The rumors about Putin’s dementia must be true. On May 9 he sat there with his lap covered with a throw - like an old babushka. What’s next? Maybe he’ll take on knitting, because he clearly is incapable of running the gas station he calls a country

No. You should take a look at RostSelMash structure: it own few brands, some you count as from USA and Canada because manufacturing or assembling plants are located there. RostSelMash group if count all brands is 5th largest harvester manufacturer in World.

World's major combine harvester players, from "Combine Harvesters Market - Growth, Trends, COVID-19 Impact, and Forecasts (2022 - 2027)," (https://www.mordorintelligence.com/i...ester-market):
    1. CLAAS
    2. John Deere
    3. Zhengzhou Arnisy Machinery Co.
    4. Yanmar Co,
    5. Kubota Agricultural Machinery.

In the section on company profiles, RostSelMash doesn't merit a mention, so it cannot be as important as you claim.

With regard to its ownership of foreign firms, it bought Canadian firm Buhler Versatile in 2001, and distributes through Python Manufacturing Inc. in North America.

At the moment, a Google search at "https://www.rostselmash.com/eng/about/hist%e2%80%a6/" returns "404. Page Not Found."
