And..... "It has an efficacy rate of 50.4% for preventing symptomatic infection, according to data from a Brazilian trial"

So better than nothing, but I think most people would consider Sinovac as the worst of the vaccines.

Just look at Chinese sickness numbers and compare with UK, USA or France.

"Most people" still think what God exists and already forgot what USA is the only country in World what made nuclear bombing of civilians.

You're not going to get it. Even Sinovac is in short supply. You can't completely blame the Thai govt. The UK spent £12bn on vaccines and Thailand just doesn't have that sort of money lying around..

Thailand has over $30 billion in foreign exchange reserves. Someone who I cannot mention is allegedly worth over $30 million.
Meanwhile, the Astra Zeneca vaccine costs about £4 per dose (180 baht). So to buy 2 doses for everyone in Thailand would cost about £560 million. The government can afford that.

[The UK government figure includes buying about 5 doses per person and other investment in vaccine development capability. Probably a lot of waste, as is the norm with public spending from any party.]

Well, not exactly lying around. It's stuffed inside the room safes of those 2,000 fat generals they have on staff.

The Thai government held the official ceremony July 12 to receive 1,053,090 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by the government of Japan to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

Wish they all went to Pattaya.

What I want to know is who was the twisted bugger who thought it prudent to order THAT exact number of doses and why one gods earth they couldn't have upped their order by a mere 10 doses to at bring the amount of doses ordered up to a nice round 1,054,000 number, to assist the ease of reporting if nothing else whilst calming my OCD ! :-)

Moses. Your point is somewhat selective in.its accuracy. No one is allowed in to China so no new cases are being imported. Only when Sinovac comes up against the new muscle boy variants will we know what it's properties are. It's like saying there are no shark attacks in Kazakhstan and lots in Australia so therefore the people of Kazakhstan must be immune to sharks.

It isn't true. All Chinese students who studied here in Russian and finished their study are coming back to homeland since end of June. I think what Chinese students from other countries do the same.

I can confirm that Chinese students have been coming and going from the UK for most of the past year.
Requirements keep changing, but upon returning to China, I think they need a PCR test, an antibody test and I think it's 2 weeks in a quarantine hotel, which may even be followed by another week of isolation at home.
