Sounds like George Orwell to me.

A country that restricts Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press stands at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to expecting people to believe what they are saying. Can't have it both ways. You're either free to report the covid data accurately, without any constraints from the government, or you're not.

Until the day comes that the Chinese people have Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press, the reports and data they present to the World, such as this covid data, will fall under a tremendous amount of scrutiny, and deservedly so.

I'm no expert of this (and don't want to be), but the Sinovac vaccine sure seems to be getting a lot of bad Press lately. The Thais don't even want it - free or not, and the epidemiologists around the planet are saying that it has the lowest efficacy rating of all vaccines, and doesn't stand up against the Delta variant either. Sorry, but this just sounds like cheap Chinese crap to me. ..which isn't at all surprising.

I don't know exactly why but there is something inherently secretive about the entire nation. Perhaps because in the past the wrong word could get you executed. We live in a world in which almost nothing can be kept secret for ever. Quite why the Chinese govt believe they can successfully watch 1.5bn people but no one can watch them is unfathomable.

Inch by inch the narrative of this is leading to the conclusion it escaped from a lab in Wuhan.

So better than nothing, but I think most people would consider Sinovac as the worst of the vaccines.

Just look at Chinese sickness numbers and compare with UK, USA or France.

"Most people" still think what God exists and already forgot what USA is the only country in World what made nuclear bombing of civilians.

National infection rate figures are never a measure of vaccine efficacy.
Particularly when certain nations were claiming better figures long before they ever started using the vaccine and when some of the figures are considered to be fraudulent by many independent observers.

Most people in the world still think that after what the Japanese did in WWII they deserved it.
(300,000 civilians killed in Nanking alone) Anyway, it's war. Fuck the Geneva Convention. You do what you have to to win..

That would be 1.4 billion people, and the statistical probability of NO new cases for a population that large in the current climate is ZERO.

If the REAL numbers were being reported FREELY in the Press, sales of Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines would plummet.

So, there is an informal curfew now in Chonburi.

The national press is reporting that more restrictions are coming. I am sitting in my condo here wondering WTF I am going to do if there is a total lockdown.
