Exactly. This probably explains why they have bought a Chinese vaccine, with suspect efficacy, since the vendors know how to incentivize the purchasing authority. Meanwhile there has been reluctance to buy vaccines from countries where bribery is illegal.

The usual facile analysis from a typical sex tourist. Thailand has been abandoning its previous preference for the US in the face of sustained criticism of the succession of coups and attendant human rights abuses. China has been very willing to do what it does best - buy the “friendship” of the Thai government with the goal of removing Thailand (and any other country it can both sucker and succour) from Western connections so as to increase its global influence.

You're probably right, but foreign English Teachers only earn 25-35k baht/month in Thailand - so, even though "sex" is the reason they're here, they don't have much money for enjoying sex too much. "Sex Teacher" would be a more fitting moniker.
