    Vaccination failures and tourism

If you think allowing only the fully vaccinated into a country such as Thailand means they won't bring COVID-19 with them, think again. No vaccine claims to be 100% effective.

Two passengers from the United States who shared a room on board Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Millennium ship, which was billed as carrying "fully vaccinated crew and guests", have tested positive for COVID-19, the cruise line said in a statement.

The tests came back positive during end-of-cruise testing, which is completed 72 hours before passengers return to the U.S., Celebrity Cruises spokesperson Jonathon Fishman told USA TODAY.

All adult passengers were required to show proof of vaccination in addition to a negative COVID-19 test within a 72-hour period before the ship departed from the Caribbean island of St. Maarten Saturday.

    Why hasn’t Dodgems reported this?

What kind of Darwin award candidates think this is a good idea?

Once in a century global pandemic, still nowhere close to the end but things are finally easing up, and what idea pops into these people's minds? Let's hop on a floating petri dish with hundreds of strangers in a crammed environment for a couple weeks, sounds like an excellent plan!

    Idiots...

I’d have thought two asymptomatic infections out of several thousand fully-vaccinated passengers and crew was quite a good result; certainly something we should expect to see repeated often as the months roll by

There’s an interesting article from a risk management professor that provides an interesting UK perspective - if you’re not vaccinated already you’re almost certain to get the Delta variant. However it will kill fewer people than the average flu season because in the UK it’s mostly younger people and children who have not been vaccinated
