Amusing to see that Earn (who I always thought of as Eard) is giving the reversed-hand V-sign, which is usually considered the rude, aggressive version. I don't suppose he intended it. He looks happy enough despite a snowy backdrop that would send a chill through most Thais just to look at. He is bright, as has been said, and good with languages, and those are among the factors giving Thais a good chance of making a success of it when they go to live abroad with a farang. Your spelling of 'earth' in Thai looks strange to me. I have not seen it with the letter m (mor maa) at the end of the word. As the th sound does not exist in the Thai language, many Thais would pronounce 'earth' as it is spelt in Thai 'eart'. I presume that was what the young man was saying when I asked his name and my ears picked it up as Eard.

My mistake. No mor maa at the end, just เอิร์ธ.
