Those who want to add the same list to their electronic calendar can find links to do so fairly readily online. The immediate problem is that the Great Dictator keeps changing holidays at will - we’ve had a number of substitute holidays for the Songkran break he cancelled in 2020.
Hello all,
First post and it’s a question so apologies. I’m planning to go back in December and noticed there’s two days, 6th and 10th, do you know if they’re both a complete shutdown for those events?
Welcome to the board, Gary.
Given the Covid situation it is probably impossible to give a definitive answer yet.
Monday Dec 6 is the King's birthday so you can expect everything will be closed and alcohol probably banned.
Alcohol is not banned on Constitution Day (Dec 10) afaik.
Great thank you. I arrive on the 1st so the 6th might be a good detox day

heh, I wonder how many tourists that will happen to going forward. They won't know about the quarantine until after they arrive and an immigration officer lets them know.
There'll probably be lots of reports of people feeling scammed because they booked a 10 day vacation or something, only to have to spent the entire thing in quarantine before having to go back home to work.
I don’t think that’s right. Don’t remember them being No Booze days. Public holidays,.yes

You may well be right, gerefan2.
I just remember being in Bangkok for a royal event for a member of the family (the King's aunt?) and alcohol was banned. But they were selling it from that small convenience store on Suriwong Street next to the massage parlour (Opposite side of the road to Soi Twilight). It was doing a roaring trade.
As things change all the time in Thailsnd it is perhaps best to wait until we get closer to these 2 holidays and someone on the ground can give us the most up to date information.
