    Vaccine

Looks like advances are being made and vaccination might start in November. The Chinese govt lies and is naturally cautious, not given to hyperbole of any kind. So theres a good chance this is true.

One way to be first is to launch in a country where there's a culture of cutting corners, widespread censorship and control of media, so any problems could be covered up if necessary.

Another way is to start early and when the data is available, make sure the regulators work to a tight schedule. I'm not sure how thick the pile of data can be from a trial, but I'd be inclined to give the regulators 48 hours to respond with questions after receipt of data.

This the method Russia is currently using.

Yeah, Russia seems to have a tendency to cut corners to try and speed things up. They had quite a few "oopsies" during the times of the space race with the US. Here's one of a Russian female cosmonaut burning up upon rentry.

There's another nearer the start of that video fo what's thought to be a Russian capsule that ended up floating away into the abyss. All you can hear is the guy's heart beating and heavy breathing as he floats away and waits for the inevitable. Whoopsie!

Probably best to ignore the previous bullshit conspiracy theory (which would be best deleted) and keep the thread on topic. After all, vaccines are relevant to the important things in life, like being able to freely travel to Thailand next year.
