That's a very American view on matters.
Outside of the US, the Trump virus is having little effect on the coronavirus. It's more down to government policy in each nation.
For the rest of the world, the worse than useless guidance from the WHO has done much more damage.

In two years time, we will be back to something nearer normal, either with a vaccine or without one.

I don’t know about your particular country but here in the UK none of my acquaintances knows anybody who has been ill with it. I know nobody who has caught it, not one person.

Some people can remotely name one person who has been infected. Most cannot name anyone.

Strange for a country that has such an awful record.

Obviously no one in Thailand will be aware of anyone who has been infected.

Is it the same where you are?

I know of 2 work colleagues (1 in US, 1 here in Ireland) that have been infected.
And 1 of mothers friends (in Ireland)

The work colleague is 40s and caught it on a trip to the US in mid March, they are really still struggling to completely recover and look like death warmed up when I see them in Zoom sessions...

On a side note, I have seen posts on FB/Twitter which state that a Thai Twitter porn star (aka Net Idol) died of Covid…
But I cant help but feel that Covid was used as a convenient excuse to cover up more stigmatic death

Yes, exactly the same...which has actually caused me to scratch my head a few times.

I have not talked to a single person, not here in Thailand, friends in Ireland, England, Scotland, Australia, or the USA, who knows a single person who's been infected with the virus to date. If the world reacted to car accidents the same way they've reacted to this virus we'd be living back in the Flintstone Age using our feet to peddle our cars around and crushing rocks for a living. Go figure!
