Ah but you're forgetting something. That members here like to discuss their planmed/booked trips to Thailand many months in advance. This is a modus operandi we witness again and again. Just look at the War and Peace size writings about the Tantawan Hotel. No detail is too small, no question too inconsequential that it cannot be asked and forensicaly examined right up until the day of departure.

Having enjoyed about 5 trips to Pattaya in the last 12 months I can assure everyone that such excitement is well justified and well good.

But talk about one extreme to the other, here we are talking about fun holidays in Thailand and just now I’m in Poland and currently taking a much needed mental break on the grass at the cafe aa we visit Auscwitz ! A sobering experience to say the least.
Well yes, Auschwitz visit couldn't be further away from joys of Thailand in many more ways than one, but a journey well worth making in a lifetime. KL>U-Tapao or a convoluted NI>Russia/china>U-Tapao both interesting journeys but with a slight mileage difference.

On one side of the coin I am relieved that our dates do not 'collide' to ensure a peaceful Mosaik, but on the other it's a pity the dates don't in some way coincide as I've yet to make the acquaintance of any of our Irish forum members despite years of keeping in touch through PMs and the forum and managing to meet up with/run into many other forum members of various nationalities. Always seem to miss Colmx, Joe etc.. one way or another.

As for Mosaik-F block, as lovely as they are we gave up on the apartments in F a long while back, I even turn them down for free when Nong/Nop wants to upgrade us as they are just too noisy day and night with the buses who deposit the Chinese hoards at the hotel on the soi. The drivers keep the engines running for ages, but more irritating are the security guys and their fucking whistles, who when parking the buses rather than simply bow the thing when the bus has reversed far enough, continue blowing them while they are manoeuvring and go silent only to indicate that they have indeed reversed far enough.

You’re right about the buses AND the whistles, however one thing I do like ( aside from the room ) is that you can come and go easily and quickly and PRIVATELY from the small side door. It’s also very handy when waiting on a visitor and being able to sit out on the balcony with a beer to watch for their arrival in the Soi this saving the usual “I’m here, come to door please” when they’re actually no where near the place yet or lost !

Oh and Re booking the taxi so early you’re absolutely right and normally I’d never dream of doing that either BUT when the conversation ( and links) to the limo popped here I figured “do it while it’s in my head”. From dealing with the taxi firm I’m actually fairly confident that the driver will turn up ok, but I’ll be sure to drop them an email from Bali / KL just to be sure perhaps. Oh and as for noise, that wouldn’t be a problem as I’m like a church mouse and aside from coming and going you’d never even know I’m there most times ! :-)

I'm fairly happy with the privacy in Mosaik A and B block.
Also, I was pleased to make use of a KL-Utapao connection when arriving from Cebu a couple of years ago (the Cebu-BKK flights departed at some uncivilized hour, hence I went via KL).

Anyway, has one found any cute & willing Polish lads ? 18~20, slim and blonde would be idea. I'm thinking of visiting Poland this summer.

However, having already been to Sachsenhausen, concentration camps are not a priority.

    Re: Airport-to-Pattaya taxi service recommendations?

I’m here with my bf so not “really” bothering to look ( much) but did get a nice 23 year old blonde guy messaging me on Grindr yesterday so they are out there ( no I didn’t slip in a quick meet before anyone asks :-). We went on a tour of the gay bars last night which were predictably Eastern European in style ie crap ! Actually they were a bit better than that and are making an effort and I think I’m a few years it’ll be fine but as gay isn’t quite “ok” here yet there’s certainly no rainbow flags hanging in the street or kylie blasting from the average one room gar bar we visited. Saying that the sleaze bar was busy with the dark room being about 3 times the size of the actual bar. Hilarious as I took my bf for a guided tour of the dark room as I’d already been in for a nosey and he was busy talking to me and turned a corner and LITERALLY walked into some big Eastern European bear, hanging naked in a sling with his ass proudly displayed and waiting for all comers ! Ha my bf nearly had a coronary and couldn’t get out of the place quick enough and I could hardly follow for laughing ! :-)

    Re: Airport-to-Pattaya taxi service recommendations?

As mentioned previously, in the end I booked thelimopattaya.com

My KLM flight was 10-15 minutes late in arriving on Saturday morning, but I got through fast-track Immigration very quickly and as the luggage was labelled priority I was out into the arrivals hall without too much extra delay. I'd been advised thatr the driver would be waiting for me with a sign-board between gates 3 and 4 but, although I looked repeatedly, I couldn't spot him. Unfortunately, my mobile phone didn't pick up a signal so I could not call the Pattaya HQ as instructed if anything went awry. Thankfully, though, a young Thai lady used her own phone to make the call for me and within a couple of minutes the driver appeared (maybe he'd gone outside for a cigarette?)

The SUV supplied was relatively new, spacious and comfortable. Good value for 1600 baht. The driver was very friendly - even to the point of flirty even (he gave me his phone number!) and knew exactly how to get to our destination.

I'd echo earlier recommendations for this company.
"The fruits of peace and tranquility... are the greatest goods... while those of its opposite, strife, are unbearable evils. Hence we ought to wish for peace, to seek it if we do not already have it, to conserve it once it is attained, and to repel with all our strength the strife which is opposed to it. To this end individual[s]... and in even greater degree groups and communities are obliged to help one another... from the bond or law of human society." [Marsilio dei Mainardini (c.1275-1342), Defensor Pacis]

NIrish, I love reading of your adventures in Thailand and elsewhere. Keep it up. Viagra?

Happy to hear about a successful taxi pickup, Marsilius.

If you're staying at Mosaik, you can order a taxi with them to pick you up.The cost is 1,600 Bht.

The taxi comes from Pattaya to the airport and waits for you, and then bring you to Mosaik. No worrying if the driver knows the way? Also the cars are decent vehicles.
