    Raids Wednesday 19 December

My spies tell me there were some riads last night.
2 non Thai boys carted off from Toyboys and a number in Jomtien.
If they raided Jomtien they must have had a field day and riased enough tea money for this Christmas and next combined!
    Anyone see the show?

Did the BIB remember to pay the off fee when they took the two boys out of Toyboys?

The problem for Cambodian men is that they only get 14 days visa when they enter. That makes it expensive to do so many visa runs.

i thought ASEAN countries are like a kind of European Union, not as integrated as Europe, I know, but that they can atleast work more easily in each others countries and only 14 days visa seems very low for an ASEAN member state. Are you sure this is true?

As a Singaporean I get a 30-day visa-free stay with each entry or 60 days with a pre-approved tourist visa. The tourist visa is free for us. It's the same for most other Asean nationals but I'm not sure about Laotians, Cambodians and Burmese. I think they get the 30-day visa-free stay if they fly in but only 14 days if coming through a land border. Employment is not allowed on either the 14/30-day visa-exempt pass or the tourist visa. Too many back-to-back visa-exempt passes and/or tourist visas and you may be denied entry on suspicion of working illegally in Thailand. Or the immigration officer on duty may give you 30 days on your first few visits but might reduce it to 14 days subsequently if they see too many back-to-back visa-exempt stamps in your passport. The idea is to discourage you from abusing the visa-exempt passes which are meant for genuine travellers.

As the two boys are non-Thais, the BIB said they will be paying their off fees directly to the immigration police.

14 days is what wikipedia says: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_r...odian_citizens
30 days for Laos and Vietnam citizens entering Thailand.

I also know it because it cost me 3,000 baht 'fine' to the police when a police check of my Cambodian friend showed he had overstayed. My friend haggled the police down from 5,000 so that was the good news.
