Double shot is as uninteresting as most other bars still
open in Sunee, the boys are useless 3 of which were about 20 10-15 years ago, cheap drinks till 9 or 10PM is hardly a reason. I hear they are busy in the wee hours but I am asleep and do not think I am missing much. For me the only thing left of interest in Sunee are the gogo bars.

A few years ago when Thomas and ?? - I forgot his name - owned the bar I got the impression it was a way to kill time and have an audience who were coming to the bar for cheap drinks. And part of the price of the cheap drink was sitting and being an audience for the owner (Neal of Happy Boys? fame was the classic example of a bar owner buying the place so he could hold court) and as I recall it was not a profitable venture for them.
I spent 5 weeks this past summer bouncing back and forth between BKK and Pattaya with the majority of the Pattaya time spent in Sunee - mostly because my friends who are long term Pattaya residents go to Sunee. The demise of Sunee plaza has been predicted for years but it keeps hanging on. However, Sunee plaza as a gay venue does seem to be hanging on less and less firmly.

Thanks. Yes Michael. Michael wanted to regale anyone who was within voice distance with the tales of his successes in life, including his many business ventures. Both of them IMHO were nice guys and as I recall they ran Double Shot for a 2-3 years and either ran out of money or lost interest in being bar owners/managers.
I did a back of the envelope calculation on the running of a bar like that and I could never believe they made any money on it. With tourism to Sunee down drastically the numbers must be even worse now.

So it rained pretty much all day in Pattaya, Boyztown was dead around 11pm, so I ventured to Sunee, to check out the new staff at Double Shot, my hopes high, based on LonelyWombat's recommendation.
Welp, not a great success. It seemed it was someone's birthday tonight at Double Shot, about 6 customers, all kinda dressed up, white shirts. There was a very large man sitting at the bar, probably owner. TV screens playing some Eastern European pop concerts off Youtube, lots of cover songs, so if you wish to listen to Hungarian (possibly Croatian) version of I Want To Know What Love Is, check the place out.
I was gonna play some pool, but table was buzy, so no luck.
Ordered one Chang, 100 Baht. Why do they call it double shot, is it 2 for 1 deal?

All of Sunee was dark and smelled of death. Or maybe rain.

Hardly an evening to do a fair appraisal Doubledutch. Pouring down, turning up at gone 11 pm and the boys were probably pissed and gone off because it’s a birthday night.
They do Double Shots. The clue is in the name. Not double bottles.

Also the wine is not a double shot, just a single glass. During the happy hour ending at 9:00 pm beer prices are much lower as are the shots.

sunee will always have a special place in my memory,wish it could bounce back to what it was say even 10 years ago,
