Is it worth to visit Thailand for a young hot guy?

I am planning on doing my first gaycation of my life and I have been considering going to Thailand for Christmas and New Year. My intention is to have a lot of fun, I have become single after long-term relationship, and I have never done a trip with that objective before.

That's why I thought about Thailand; it is well-known that Thailand is the gay capital of Asia. But after I started googling in detail about the gay scene in Thailand, it appears that the fun is based on the large amount of escorts available. I am not interested at all in hiring escorts. I want to go to a place where I can meet a lot of other hot gay guys. I want something like Barcelona or Sydney during a gay pride.

Does Thailand offer that, or its gay tourism is primarily targeted to hiring escorts?

PS: I am open to suggestions of other places to visit not more than 12 hours flight from Australia.

Hi! If you are not looking for escorts or gogo boys, think a number mentioned on forums that Bangkok has quite a lot of guys looking for fun and are not money boys.

Taipei (Taiwan) is another destination you can consider.

I agree. Bangkok would be more productive than Pattaya. The apps will help you. And there are plenty of suitable night-clubs and bars, not just in the Silom area.
If you are used to hotels in Europe or the US, you will appreciate the affordability of Thai ones.

I go along with the advice given. To be clear you will find escorts in Pattaya, Phuket and Bangkok.
BUT if you are looking for non-escort guys you,will be wasting your time in Pattaya and probably also in Phuket.

Check out Chiang Mai as well as Bangkok. Great city, lots of univeristy students around, and you should have no problem having a good time up there without prostitutes.
