Mark,
Any chance you give up an overview about Morocco?

I had not been for 15 years so some big changes in the city’s not as much poverty on show nice shopping malls if you like that sort of thing. The country side not really changed at all. People still really friendly. There are several budget airlines going there from the U.K. I used to pay over £300. 20 years ago now it’s as little as £50 return I usually pay £100 return to choose my seat and take a large case but if your a light traveller is very cheep. Hotels still very clean and cheep so all in all I personally enjoy it still lots of guys available but using apps now.
Some one once said the customer is always right, Correct if you only ever want one customer.
Thanks to the havoc USA and it's lapdog poodles in the UK have engendered over the past decades, I'd simply not visit any predominantly Moslem country under the current circumstances - and certainly not one where I'd have to creep about in (or be led to) shady areas to partake in horizontal recreation, for fear of being arrested.
I'll defer of course to Mark's experience - I'm only going by what I have heard and read.
The morbidly obese former owner of this forum was a regular visitor to Morocco (Agadir being his preferred playground) before he discovered Eastern Europe and then (of course) Thailand. It's a place I always wanted to visit but never got to, and with things being the way they are, I guess I never will.

Please don’t believe everything you read I’m sat here in the U.K. and if I had never been to Thailand but believed everything I read about it I would be terrified to go.
At the moment I think I would be safer in Morocco than London to be honest.

TBH what I've heard and read is that there is zero chance of taking a boy back to your hotel, that meetings have to be arranged quite surreptitiously, that if you do manage to pick up and if he does know somewhere to go, he will not walk with you - but well ahead of you, and you have to watch you are not being followed by police.
Further I've heard that either before or after the deed is done, the boys won't fraternise or socialise with you in any way - it's just too dangerous for them.
Have heard/read all this multiple times - is it all exaggerated then? I'd genuinely like to know.
Offering a bucket load of opinions on somewhere you've never been. That's not like you.
I've been to Morroco on six occasions- it's an easy flight from London. In Tangiers, twenty years ago, my attempts to tread in William Burroughs' footsteps and to find Joe Orton's hang-outs were a failure, though I did pick-up ( or perhaps I was picked-up by) a young guy with whom I searched some spectacularly dingy hotels for one which would rent us a room. Unsuccessfully....probably a blessing in disguise. I was younger and braver then.
In Marrakesh , I was followed one evening in the famous Square by a cute guy who repeatedly tried to make contact. My experiences in Tangiers however ensured that he was unsuccessful. A few years ago, there was a guest house there advertising itself as gay. I have my doubts. Plenty of guys available but, as Spartacus used to say, AYOR.
Morocco is a fascinating place with plenty to do and see....but exploring gay life (such as it is) isn't one of them.To gain a flavour of Tangiers as it once was (mid sixties) read Joe Orton's diaries.

I suspect most of us have already read Joe Orton's diary - a much easier read than William Burroughs drug-fueled output

I have been to Morroco on four occasions - Agadir, Marrakech and twice to Essaouira. The latter being my favourite so far.
I have read and researched about having fun there, and because of the hotel situation, I always book an apartment. I use Airbnb.
I have had some great fun in all the places I've been. It is very AYOR. But if you're careful, you will be ok. The guys are sexy and fit. So easy to find fun out there.
Hope to visit other places in Morroco in the future.
Please note Essaouira (2 hours from Marrakech) is a nice small coastal town and not as scary as Marrakech, is a lovely place to visit. I enjoyed it that much, I went a second time. Each visit I had fun with some good looking guys!
