The moment the Thailand cave rescue almost went horribly wrong

This extensive article just published outlined the huge difficulties the rescue teams and the near tradegy that almost overtook them.
Nothing has been said of the rush of water behind them as the last person cleared the tunnel.
It was fascinating to read how bloody difficult for the experts in the tunnel at all stages, and I commend it for all to read

video of the boys at the hospital safe and happy.

Wondering when the first bar will appear in Sunee- "Wild Boars Cave a Go Go".
Listless energy deprived waifs laying about the bar in short loose soccer shorts in the dark
    with rock hard seating.

This morning had the inside view of the cage as taken by the Thai Navy Seals.

Impressed as much as I have been. I was stunned to see how many people were involved to bring each boy out. This is the only time I have seen inside the cave, the divers working , the numbers carrying each boy and how they were transported, and the glances of what the strain for divers and boys was like. I wish there was some way to post this video here to wrap this thread. I do not think I can describe it. If it can be done this is from the ThaiNavySeals facebook.
IT IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LINK.

I know it was because they were sedated, but the news that some of the boys may have slept through their rescue made me smile, given what we all know about the Thai propensity to nod off at every opportunity.

The first time I brought my other half to the UK for a holiday I couldn't believe that within 10 minutes of us setting off in my car he would be gently snoring

I remember when I first moved to Thailand a friend remarking that you can keep a Thai boy entertained for hours just by giving him a full-length mirror. That's still true today - forever preening even in lifts with mirrors

The international co-operation involved in the rescue was most welcome after the "Me First" ideologies so prevalent in some places today. Of course, I particularly welcome the UK contribution, but I note that there were Chinese divers there as well. It's rather banal to say this but it shows that different nations can work together successfully for the general good.
